Published on March 05, 2020Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Fellow Printers,
In line with our objective to assist our members with technical data and
information relative to the operation of their printing business, we have
organized a paper mill tour at Trust International Paper Corporation
(TIPCO) on March 27, 2020 (Friday) at Mabalacat, Pampanga.

With this project, we endeavor to be able:
1. To observe how pulp is converted into paper;
2. To understand how basis weight, thickness and density of paper
are controlled;
3. To know the factors that determine the strength and durability of
paper;
4. To understand the optical properties of paper such as brightness,
color, opacity and gloss;
5. To observe how the quality of paper is monitored and maintained;
and
6. To know how the quality of paper affects the quality of print.
Meeting place for departure will be at McDonald’s Eton Centris at 7:00
am. Transportation will be provided to Mabalacat, Pampanga. A
sumptuous lunch will be served at Abe’s Farm after the mill tour.
Estimated time of arrival at Eton Centris is at 4:00 pm.
As part of TIPCO’s security procedures, mobile phones, photo and video
recording are not allowed in the paper mill. Hence, these will be left inside
the vehicle. Participants are also required to leave an ID upon entry.

As printers, our main material is paper. Let us take this opportunity as
TIPCO opens its paper mill to our members. Registration is open to the
first 40 registrants, with a maximum limit of 2 registrants per company. A
minimal fee of P 1,500 per participant is requested to cover costs. Please
deposit the amount to:
Bank : Banco De Oro
Account Name : Printing Industries Association of the Philippines, Inc.
Account No. : 259 000 7449
Email the deposit slip to piap_inc@yahoo.com on or before March 20,
2020 to confirm your registration.
