Circular No. 18, Series of 2020 - Effects of Coronavirus on PIAP’s Various Programs and Activities for 2020

Published on May 22, 2020Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Fellow Printers and Members,
The effects of coronavirus which have reached pandemic stage have
brought havoc to the well-prepared programs and activities for 2020 which
PIAP have work so hard for the members of our association.

Except for our trip to SGI Dubai 2020 last January 11-14, 2020 at
Dubai World Trade Center, and our 1st General Membership Meeting
sponsored by Sansin on January 6, 2020 at Gazebo Royal Garden, Quezon
City, all our planned activities have to be postponed or cancelled due to the
effects of the coronavirus.
1) PRINTING SOUTH CHINA 2020 - March 3-6, 2020
We were able to register a total of 55 active members of PIAP to
confirm their attendance, but was cancelled due to coronavirus.
2) Road Show Presentation and Summit
of REED EXHIBITIONS
The Reed Exhibitions is an event organizer based in Shanghai,
China who was to sponsor PIAP’s 2nd GMM during their Road
Show Presentation and Summit at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria
on February 27, 2020. It was cancelled because most of their
resource speakers were from different parts of China.

3) DRUPA 2020
The world’s biggest and largest Printing Show which is held only
every four years, was scheduled on June 16-22, 2020 at Dusseldorf,
Germany, but cancelled and postponed to April 20-30, 2021.
Again, we had around 30 confirmed participants who already paid
for their US $1,000.00 deposits and ready to leave.
4) PRINT PHILIPPINES 2020
We were all ready to launch and undertake our PRINT
PHILIPPINES 2020 which was scheduled on October 1-3, 2020 at
SMX Convention Center, but SMX cancelled all lease contracts up
to the end of the year due to the effects of coronavirus.
The Board of PIAP decided to cancel PRINT PHILIPPINES 2020
and postpone it to next year with a special launch of PRINT
PHILIPPINES 2021 to start as early as April this year.
This will give us more time and opportunity to recruit more and
better exhibitors to show their new innovations in printing machines
and products using the latest trends and advance technology.
We assure our printers and suppliers that PRINT PHILIPPINES
2021 will be better and more attractive than all our previously
successful PRINT PHILIPPINES Shows.
The members of the Board of PIAP pledge and promise that we will
continue to exert efforts to come up with interesting and relevant
programs and activities that are geared towards a better Philippine
printing industry.

We thank you and ask for your continued support so that we could
continue to grow in strength.

Sincerely yours,

John L. Choa
